Steak - Cometh

The new video from london based stoner/desert rock outfit Steak landed in my inbox yesterday, and I have to say, I'm happy it did. It's the frist track to be released from their upcoming album studio album set to be released some time this autumn.

The promo material for the video describes their sound as "a dense, doom-laden statement of intent; a slow-burning, crushing wall of fuzz that leans deep into the band’s signature blend of groove-heavy desert rock and monolithic riff worship." Idon't think I could describe it any better than that, so I'm not even gonna try.

As for the video, it's a beautifully animated, story-driven, darkly apocalyptic, visual gem with based on original art and characters from their graphic novel.

Being a huge comic book nerd is probably a factor, but even after just watching it once, I knew this was easily one of my favorite videos released in the last couple of years.

After consulting with the other inmates of the cranial asylum, I decided to give it 9 out of a possible 10 skulls.
